The person whose journal it is should choose whether to share, approve the connection and select each permission. Rythena Partner mode gives the recipient a read-only view without a separate Plus subscription.
A period tracker for couples can help with practical support, but only if the person sharing their information controls the arrangement. Sharing should reduce the need to repeat a preference, not create an expectation that a partner is entitled to health information.
The upcoming Rythena Partner mode separates the owner's journal from the recipient's read-only experience. Creating and publishing an owner connection requires Plus. Receiving updates, reviewing connections and reducing or revoking access do not require a separate recipient subscription.
Agree on the purpose before sending an invitation
Start with a conversation about what would be useful. You might want a partner to know when company would help, or prefer a simple signal that you want some space. You may decide not to share fertility information at all.
Avoid treating a cycle phase as a personality report. “She must be angry because of her cycle” is not a supportive use of a calendar. Rythena's support suggestions should follow shared preferences and observations rather than infer someone's temperament.
Connect privately and verify together
The owner creates a private, single-use invitation. The recipient accepts it in the partner experience, which does not require cycle-journal onboarding. Follow the displayed verification steps and compare the matching codes together.
If the codes do not match, do not approve the connection. If an invitation is expired or already used, create a fresh one through the owner's controls rather than forwarding old invitation material repeatedly. Keep pairing secrets separate from journal recovery keys.
The owner explicitly approves the recipient before health information becomes visible. Acceptance of an invitation alone should not be treated as permission to publish a journal summary.
Enable only the scopes you want
Cycle information, fertility estimates and today's saved mood begin as separate disabled permissions. Choose deliberately. Sharing cycle dates does not automatically enable fertility, and sharing a mood does not implicitly share the surrounding notes.
The recipient sees only the permitted summary, with labels distinguishing recorded, setup and estimated information. They do not gain journal-editing access or access to the owner's account. If you later choose to share less, you should be able to reduce permissions without purchasing again.
Use preferences instead of guessing
Optional support preferences can express wanting space, company, someone to listen or practical help. They are a better starting point for a conversation than an assumed emotional state.
A recipient can still ask, “Would that help today?” The dashboard's last-updated time matters. An older mood or preference is not a command that remains true indefinitely. Unavailable or stale information should remain visibly unavailable or stale.
Pause or end the connection when you choose
Pause stops local publishing immediately. Permission reductions and disconnect controls remain available without Plus. If the owner is offline, the app can show a pending server revocation; do not mistake that status for completed server confirmation.
Supportive notifications require opt-in and are neutral on the lock screen. iOS may delay or skip background work, so no one should rely on an immediate update for urgent communication. Previously seen or copied information cannot be recalled.
Read partner-sharing boundaries for a practical conversation checklist, or the private period tracker guide for the wider data controls.
